The new album from Scottish pop/folk duo The Macs marks a fresh direction in the musical journey of brothers Craig and Brian MacDonald .
Having started their career at an early age playing traditional Scottish folk music and later taking the Scottish music scene by storm as pop act The MacDonald Brothers in 2011 the brothers traveled to Nashville to work on a new album at the world-famous Ocean Way Studios with some of Nashville’s finest musicians, including Andy Leftwich on violin and mandolin, Jeff Taylor on accordion and pennywhistles, Marcus Finnie on drums and Tommy White on dobro and pedal steel.
Combining influences of pop, Scottish folk, and American roots music the resulting album ‘Strumming To Your Beat’ features originals What If You’re Wrong, self-written songs I Wanna Be With Her Tonight, and cover’s from Eagles “Peaceful Easy Feeling” to Lady Antebellum’s “I Run To You” as well as Scottish songwriters; Gordon Campbell’s “Because I Love You” and Greg Friel’s “Put The Light Out"
