Live ad Alcatraz is the album that marked the beginning of the collaboration between guitarist Fausto Mesolella and Giulio Cesare Ricci.
Fausto Mesolella had just finished a recording made on the occasion of a live concert held in Umbria at the Alcatraz, a fascinating meeting place for musicians, men of culture and artists in general. Upon first listening, Giulio Cesare Ricci was very impressed by Fausto Mesolella's interpretations and performances and so decided to remaster the recording with his completely analog and valve system Signoricci...and the final result was extraordinary.
The Master was made with the Ampex ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351-1965), 2 tracks, 1/2" modified by David Manley.
The songs Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, Ai giochi addio by Nino Rota and O sole mio by Capurro and Di Capua are worth highlighting.
