Like a bridge over troubled water

Posted by Bart on 28th Apr 2022

I think the photo on the cover might give a hint of where Pat is at. This is some strong stuff, especially the first track. Anyone expecting "smooth" jazz should probably stay away. It's a long, lush album but mostly a sad one. Can't imagine why; you'd think there was a worldwide pandemic going on. As for expressing one's opinions through music, you know how that goes. It's perfectly fine when the person listening agrees. If not, it's a terrible thing that has no place in music.

    Very nice, smooth jazz

I've been listening to Pat Metheny since the early 80's and I've the chance to see him live a couple of times, with the Group and individually. My favorite all time guitarist.

    Another great Metheny album...

Posted by Jon on 28th Apr 2022

This is a great album. It's smart and very accessible to newcomers. It's more straightforward (less experimental) yet still beautiful nonetheless. It's also solid throughout so I find myself sitting through the whole thing and not skipping around.
