The German Analogue Audio Association (AAA), in cooperation with the HorchHouse label, is launching a very attractive tape package with an excellent price/performance ratio. The approach was to offer very high quality in all respects.
With the RTM long-playing tape LPR90 and a magnetic flux of 320 nWb/m compared to the usual magnetic flux of 510 nWb/m on studio tape in the studio, the maximum level usual in the studio is only 4 dB below. In addition to the owners of studio tape devices, this edition is aimed primarily at the owners of semi-professional two-track devices. This production was completely analogue: This applies to the recording, the mastering and the tape copy.
All tapes are handcrafted on meticulously maintained Studer tape machines. There are two metal spools in a stable HorchHouse box. They are secured against slipping by foam inserts (with recessed grips). The tapes were provided with leader and end tape. The end of the tape was glued to the spools to prevent it from unwinding itself, especially during transport. A folding box containing six high-quality printouts with all of the production information lies above the ribbons. Look forward to tape art at its best!

Father and son between two worlds
The existing recordings of Vivaldi's Concerto Grosso in A minor op. 3/8 and Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D minor BWV 1043 were made in April 1957 in the Leipzig Congress Hall. Since their joint debut in 1947, the Bach Double Concerto has been the central work in David and Igor Oistrakh's joint repertoire, which they performed in numerous concerts until David's death in 1974. The then Eterna boss Dieter-Gerhardt Worm remembers: “David Oistrakh was a very nice and approachable person. You can hear that in his recordings. His playing is so incredibly accomplished and yet so humanly accessible. He was seized with the ambition to be at least as good as Menuhin, whose Bach style he greatly admired. During the recording of Bach's violin sonatas in Dresden's Lukaskirche, he kept disappearing from the studio with his small tape recorder to listen to excerpts from Menuhin's recording. And yet he had a much better technique, in fact the recordings with Oistrakh progressed very quickly.” – The recordings from 1957/58 were remastered in the original monaural reproduction quality.
