This album features some of violist Salvatore Accardo's greatest works.
Salvatore Accardo has been recording with Giulio Cesare Ricci for 30 years, and this album contains some of the finest recordings for solo violin, violin and piano, quartet, violin and orchestra.
Highlights include J.S. Bach's Chaconne, N. Paganini's La Campanella, Astor Piazzolla's Oblivion, and more...
Lovers of beautiful sound will appreciate the acoustics of the various venues where Giulio Cesare Ricci "set" the recording: the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music (Rome), the Ponchielli Theater (Cremona), the Parish Church of the Capuchin Convent (Peccioli), the Lodi Auditorium designed by Renzo Piano, Palazzo Affaitati, "Ala Ponzone" Civic Museum (Cremona), the "Caetani" Music Hall, Villa di Ninfa (Latina), the Auditorium of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia (Rome), and the Oratorio del Gonfalone (Rome). For this recording, Giulio Cesare Ricci used only two microphone pairs, two Neumann M49s and two Neumann U47s.
