Since 1806 many violin concertos were created which have a more effective and virtuosic solo parts, but there is hardly a work similar compositional content, which because of the open, exposed position of his solo parts so ruthlessly reveals even the slightest roughness of the representation: Beethoven‘s Violin Concerto means still one of the great artistic challenges for any violinist.
A legend in his lifetime for his interpretations of Beethoven, Herbert von Karajan recorded a large swathe of the composer’s oeuvre. Here, Karajan conducts the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, with violin soloist Anne-Sophie Mutter. Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra performing Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.
Remarkable sovereignty, skillfulness, groundwork and intonation security.
