Barney Wilen’s career took off in 1957. That year, he won the Django Reinhardt prize and recorded with Miles Davis the soundtrack of the film ‘Elevator to the Scaffold’. Taking advantage of an international fame, he records in 59 the music of the film ‘Les Liaisons Dangereuses’ with Thelonious Monk and Art Blakey, then composes himself that of the film ‘Un témoin dans la ville’ directed by Edouard Molinaro. For this night tour through Paris, Barney Wilen is surrounded by the musicians who have accompanied him for several weeks at the Club Saint-Germain: Kenny Dorham, Duke Jordan, Paul Rovère and Kenny Clarke. The result is a very happy marriage, as the music seems to have been created for the image and the image for the music.
