Stand Up is Jethro Tull's second album. Prior to the release of this album, the original guitarist Mick Abrahams left the band due to musical conflicts with Ian Anderson. Abrahams wanted to stay with the blues-rock sound like This Was had, while Anderson wanted to evolve to other musical forms. Stand Up is the first album where everything is fully under Anderson's control, music and lyrics. The album goes in a different direction, taking on influences from Celtic music, folk and classical music. The album reached number one in the UK charts.

Great remix of a GREAT album
Purchased any early pressing of Stand Up in 1969 needless to say that copy is getting tired. This 2017 remix is excellent of what I believe is equal to Aqualung. This album is Ian's first true effort as song writer and definitely worth every listen.

Best version of this album
Almost sounds like an entirely different album, in a great way. This is the definitive mix of this album, which had a rather poor initial stereo mix to begin with. I actually preferred the original mono mix to the original stereo. This blows both out of the water and really lets every instrument shine through. Of course Steven Wilson mixes are great all the time, but this album really has benefited the most from his treatment in my opinion.

Subperb remix of a masterpiece
I’m not always a fan of remixes, but trust me the Steven Wilson remix is AMAZING. The clarity and balance is unreal, the vocals are crystal clear, and even the drums sparkle. I’ve listened to this album thousands of times since the early 70’s. This is perfection , and Stand Up is a masterpiece, occupying a place on many musician’s top albums of all time’s lists. There is so much to hear, and the remix brings out details I never heard before. It’s definitely worth buying
