Latest Original Master Tape Recording session - Fats Jazz Band

We are happy to see that the new Fats Jazz Band album Happy Birthday is coming soon. In January 2021, the premium hot-jazz and swing orchestra FATS JAZZ BAND had recorded its 7th album. The band celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, therefore they decided to show a wide range of their abilities.
SEPEA audio has recorded the album on 2 x Studer A80 ½“ @30ips and Sonosax SX-T mix.

The band is focused to transcribe original old shellac recordings from 20s up to early 50s as much authentic as possible. They use original instruments from the 30s, they adjust the sound and phrasing to the vintage style and they revive long-time forgotten finest music of the past. The bandleader, pianist and saxophonist Ladislav Fanzowitz, is behind the whole idea and all arrangements. The band consists of 7 musicians and 2 singers who have performed all around Europe and they've received exciting feedback from their American colleagues on their work.
The newest album offers American, English, Slovak and Czech songs and tunes, mostly for 9 musicians' bands, but they also invited a few guests for a couple of big band arrangements. You can find there well known It Don't Mean A Thing, Darktown Strutters Ball, Some Of Theses Days or At The Jazz Band Ball, funny 1920s tune Sax-o-Phun a vocal version of In the Mood but also very rare version of Solitude on Hammond organ or even crazy boogie-woogie Nineteen Ways Of Playing A Chorus on harpsichord! Fanzowitz, as one of the best classical piano virtuoso soloists in East-Central Europe, likes to search for special pieces which call for high demands on the musicians and also the tunes which connect jazz to classical music.
