ALTUM Sostava — Single-Ended Tube Monoblock Pair

A matched pair of hand-built single-channel (monoblock) tube amplifiers from the Altum line, each mounted on its own solid hardwood chassis that damps vibration and isolates the circuitry from external resonance. The two units are mirror-built, so when placed side by side as a stereo pair their transformer boxes, tube covers, and controls face outward symmetrically. Each monoblock runs on vintage military-spec vacuum tubes from the 1930s–50s, chosen for their deep vacuum and rare-earth metal content, alongside a smaller driver tube for precise signal control. The hand-wound output transformer — Altum's own design, cured in beeswax on six iron cores — sits in its own dark wenge enclosure next to the tube array. A front-mounted analog VU meter illuminates during operation, giving a visual read on output level, while a knurled metal volume knob sits beside it. The larger rectifier/output tube is shielded by a soft, custom-molded silicone cover that also damps ambient vibration.
