“Look Of Love: The Very Best Of ABC” is a compilation album of hits by the English pop band, which was founded in 1980 in Sheffield, UK, and emerged from the former electronic band Vice Versa. ABC, which is associated with the new wave movement, blended synth-pop with influences from disco and rock. The band achieved its breakthrough with its debut album, “The Lexicon of Love” (1982), which reached number one on the UK album charts and featured several hit singles.
In addition to lead singer Martin Fry, the only constant member of the band, the classic lineup consisted of guitarist and keyboardist Mark White, saxophonist Stephen Singleton, and drummer David Palmer. From 1981 to 1990, ABC had ten hits in the UK Top 40 and five in the US Top 40. “Look Of Love: The Very Best Of ABC” is essentially a reissue of the greatest-hits album “Absolutely,” expanded to include two new songs, “Peace And Tranquility” and “Blame.”
Universal Music Hong Kong is now releasing the British band's popular compilation – which was first released on November 6, 2001 – in high-resolution Hybrid SACD format.
