Among the many violin works that Giulio Cesare Ricci has recorded with Salvatore Accardo over the years, this edition of The Four Seasons is a must. by Antonio Vivaldi.
The great Maestro has taken the original manuscript of The Four Seasons and given it an interpretation that sets an absolute benchmark.
Regarding the choice of location, Giulio Cesare Ricci made an exception: not a historic venue, but the Auditorium that architect Renzo Piano converted from the old Polenghi Lombardo factory in Lodi.
Even though it is a contemporary Auditorium, the acoustics are very natural thanks to the wooden structures used to renovate this hall.
The mastering was done with the Ampex ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351 - 1965) 2 tracks, 1/2 inch, 76 cm/sec.
The mastering was carried out by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the entirely analog, tube-based Signoricci system.
The recording was made without sound manipulation, equalization, reverb, compression, or expansion...but with a natural sound and authentic timbre.
