It is the most beautiful sacred composition in the history of music.
This recording features two great singers, Mariella Devia (soprano) and Francesca Provvisionato (mezzo-soprano), masterfully conducted by Daniele Callegari.
Giulio Cesare Ricci chose not a church for this recording, but the intriguing acoustics of the Lauro Rossi Theater in Macerata.
He used only two pairs of microphones, two Neumann M49s and two Neumann U47s.
The vinyl mastering was done by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the entirely analog, tube-based Signoricci system.
The master was made with an Ampex ATR 102 (Electronic Tube Ampex Model 351 - 1965) 2 tracks 1/2 inch 30fps modified by David Manley.
This recording allows you to fully appreciate the timbre of the voices, the colors of the orchestral instruments, and "the depth and heights of the sound."
