Insane!
I finally received this today and after listening to the first track I jumped out of my chair and hopped on my computer to write this. I'm astonished! I've recently spent over $10k on tapes and have been impressed so far by the medium but not enough to justify the expense in my mind...until now. Tape is everything when done right and so far Hemiolia tapes have beat them all...I hate to say it because getting them here in the US costs almost twice as much as the next most expensive competition but they are worth every penny. I can immediately hear the difference between this tape and all of my others from about 7 different labels. You can see deeply into the music and the purity, especially of Coltrane's sax, is just delicious. I know I should wait until finishing KoB (and also the other one that arrived today - Blue Trane) but I couldn't contain myself. If my opinion changes I'll adjust this review but as of right now, this first track has my head exploding and also feeling relieved that my trust and faith in tape wasn't unfounded.
