Unique and Milestone For Mingus
This was Mangus’s first full length album as a leader and it has all the ingredients in elements that would show up in his later masterpieces. Most of the musicians do not take a usual solo but blend and add different expressions throughout the pieces at different times, creating an almost chamber like a jazz feel. It’s cool, it’s third stream, it’s jazz in the 1950s!

Incredible mind for music. He compares to Zappa for way out music for their genre. This album will keep you wanting more from Mingus. is not for everybody, he is an acquired taste.
